Values are impalpable things that are very important to us and are also things that guide. to make decisions. Every person has a different set of values which is why everyone handles their everyday situations differently. The values that I trust in play a very important role in my life. The beliefs I have are important because they shape the way that I carry on with my life and the way that I think affects those around me as well. The values that are most important to me are family, happiness, and respect. I have had the fortune of being brought up in a strong family background. I have two loving parents that have always supported me while additionally giving me a chance to add to my own ethics and values by seeing the way they handle their lives. Their love for me has shown me great ways of how to be nice and loving toward others. I feel a lot of American kids miss out on that nowadays. Happiness is also something you should definitely have in life. When you are happy in life, you can enjoy anything even if you don’t have everything you want. Happiness is very important to me because I was always taught to be happy with the things I have because somewhere, halfway around the world, people lack basic needs that we take for granted. Also, usually when you are happy it means that all the other things around you are good, which is always a good thing. Respect for others means acknowledging each other, listening to other's opinions, their feelings, their time, and their personal space. It also means you should do unto others, as you would have them do unto you. From utilitarianism point of view, a moral action is an action that will bring the maximum happiness to most people. Respect for others will bring the happiness to people around us because it is essential to solve problems and reduce conflict. It was kind of hard eliminating some of the value tags just because as people we have so many different qualities, so sometimes it’s hard to narrow down very specific things that you value. At the end of the day though, I believe I really know myself so my top three ended up being an easy task. The experience reflects me
