“Mom!” She said with a sly grin on her face,” Will said a bad word!” I was rushing to stop her but sadly I was too late. As soon as my mother came into view I knew I was done for. Her face did not show anger just disappointment. “What did you do Will?” She said with a smile on her face. “I didn’t do anything,” I said. “He swore Mom,” said Hannah. Hannah is my sister and has always been a thorn in my side. She was older and had always wanted to get me in trouble. While she was always mean to me she had taught me a lot of things. “Will, next time I won’t be so nice,” said my Mom. “Okay.” This was only one of the times that I had done something bad. “I don’t know,” I said shrugging my shoulders.
“Well you got to start doing it.”
“Why?”
“Because-“she paused then started again. “Thinking things through and using common sense, that you clearly don’t have, will help you in life,” said Hannah.
“What’s common sense?” I said.
“It’s something that you would use in everyday life,” she said walking away, bored with the conversation. After hearing it I took a lot of thought towards it. I had this thought in my head every day. I made sure to think things through. Finally I had come across a situation in which I could use common sense. Afterwards I finally understood what she meant by using my common sense to get through life. I had eventually stopped getting in trouble so much at school; I could make good decisions after thinking about them long and hard. Most of these decisions come from me doing something bad or not.
All in all, I had finally learned to use my common sense. It had helped me a bunch in life, especially when I did not want to get in trouble. Decisions became a tiny bit easier. I had been able to cope with many different situations because of common sense.
