The most challenging parts of the job are trying to make sure everything is one-hundred percent accurate and having to deal with increased numbers of people trying to register for benefits at certain periods of the year. Many people wait until the last minute to apply to Sinclair which creates the most problems for the coordinator. The veteran services coordinator acts as a middle man between the student and the Regional Veterans Affairs office. The other positives and negatives to this job include being able to communicate to diverse group of people labeled as veterans. Becky labeled this as a positive as did I when job shadowing for a short time. At other times the job can be stressful because of the sheer number of people wanting to use benefits at any given time can be very high. Becky came into the job after spending nine years as an Advisor at Franklin University. She has no prior military experiences which is usually a perquisite when working for the VA. I enjoyed how the office setting was laid back experience. There not many strict rules that a person needed to follow in order to work in such a setting. In Donald Super’s Model of development of occupational goals, I feel that I am in the exploration stage still because when I was younger I didn’t search for an occupation as much and still am unsure of what I want to do. I also feel that society (western) places too many time-tables on meeting certain life stages by a certain time
