Coming to the United States was a dream come true and also a shock. Looking back, I realise that the imagination is a wonderful thing. I was able to create entire environments and scenarios in my head, using nothing more than my brain, and to be able to adapt things in my everyday surroundings to fit the specific story of the day.
When I knew I was coming to the United States I found out from my friend and neighbours, It was like the talk of the day. They found from my friend dad because, he works as same place as my dad.
When I found out I thought it was a joke, but then I ask my mom she said it truth. I was so excited, but the question I kept asking myself is “when are we going”? No one knows, even my mom does not know neither does my dad. …show more content…
All she said was “o ko lọ si ile-iwe loni”. “You are not going to school today.” I barely did anything that day, my mom, grandma and my aunt did the packing. I thought we were going the next day, but guess what? we're going on that day. It felt awesome, but I did not get to say goodbye to my friend because, they were all in school, but I get to say goodbye to the one’s that came back early. I felt like a balloon filled with water about to explode with excitement, on the other hand I felt like one unhappy icicle wasted away in the
