Personal Narrative: How Fear Affected My Life

A lot of people fear many different things like snakes, spiders, heights, roller coasters. Sometimes when fear takes place it is a one time event or action that causes it. Either way, fear can make things difficult to deal with and make life hard. When fear effects our life we need to stand up to it and do the best we can. The one time that I remember being afraid the most is when I changed from Woodland Forrest Elementary School to Maxwell Elementary School in 4th Grade. I had been at Woodland Forrest since I was in Kindergarten. I had friends that I knew very well and spent my time after school with each day. I knew the building, the teachers and the routine. I loved my school, but the first couple of months of 4th grade there were hard for me. It just wasn’t clicking. I had the chance to move to Maxwell and my parents decided it was what was best for me. I was so scared that I would get to the new school and not make any new friends. I didn’t know what the teachers were like at Maxwell. I didn’t know where things were. I was very upset with my parents, and the main reason was that I was scared. I remember my first day. I wanted to just stay home and not go to school. I got dressed and Mom dropped me off.
