I knew was going to miss that smell of moist soil from my backyard. But with a positive thought in mind, I took off. Next thing I knew, was that I landed in a place where everyone was a no one and everything was nothing. Although it was great and I was excited, deep down somewhere in my heart, I missed India. It did not take me a while to get along with people, soon I was the same kid with a positive outlook on life. It wasn't until I saw the stress on my "always smiling" mother's face, that I realized what I lost back in India. My mother didn't work in India since dad was doing really good with his own comapny. But over here, since dad had to to go back to take care of the company. My mom and I had to figure out a way to tackle the expenses. While dad did send money, because of the exchange rate. It was really difficult. Mom managed to find a job at a local coffee shop. But going up to her and asking her for allowance like I did in India, just didn't feel right. She already had a lot to worry about. At the same time, I found out that it is normal for teens to work in US , so I found me a part-time job.
