My life is at a stable condition before I immigrated to America. I went to the best middle school and high school in town, and got admitted into a good university in China. However, my mother suddenly informed me that we will immigrated to America after my first year in university. I was excited about the news since I consider America is a country full of opportunities and adventures. My family also believed immigrating to America is an opportunity to improve our financial condition basing on their old impression on America. Therefore, here we are. A family with full of passions about our new lives. However, it was a terrible beginning. We lived in my aunt’s house which only has one smelled bedroom for three of us. My father and mother slept in a single bed that he sometimes would fall from it. Our relatives took us to visit around San Francisco, but I found out it is so small, and thinking I would get bored of it quickly. …show more content…
Thankfully, my mother’s friends help them to find jobs. My father did flooring; he comes home with some sores every day. My mother takes care of an old lady, and got a very low salary. I took non-credit classes with a class of old people. I can hardly make new friends in that period. I feel lonely and unfamiliar in this country. I feel regretful for coming to America because this is not what I expected: living uncomfortably in somebody’s house, seeing my parents suffer from work and fight with each other about the decision of coming to America. Life has force me to become a leader in my family since I’m the one who seems to be the most adaptable one. I know that I have to be strong and do something for my family. I read newspaper every day in order to find a home for us, and I did. I also did some research, and found out that as a low income family, we can get subsidies from government which help to relieve my parents’ financial stress. I also found myself a community college to
