It was a sunny fall day the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The day we would go to Colusa to play them in a section championship in hopes of winning and getting a chance to make a run for the state title. That morning I woke up early, it was Thanksgiving break, but I couldn’t sleep. I got up at around 6 am which is pretty unusual for me during a break but today was no ordinary day. I had mixed emotions of excitement and anxiety; I couldn’t wait to be out on the field that night playing for a chance to make history at our high school. However, I was very nervous because Colusa was undefeated and the last time we played them it wasn’t a close game, we lost 20-35. After waking up, I went …show more content…
When I got out, I felt really good and ready to play. I made a protein shake and a bowl of oats with yogurt, then I sat on my computer watching film on the other team and taking notes on the lineman I was going against. I studied them for about an hour before taking a 30-minute nap. I usually take a 20 or 30-minute nap every day because it makes me feel more awake and energized at night, usually these naps keep me more awake and alert later on in the day. After my nap I got a big glass of water with a liquid IV packet that has electrolytes to keep you hydrated, I finished it in seconds and made about 3 more. After doing all these things, the time flew by and it was already 3:30. I only had 45 minutes to be at the school ready with my stuff waiting for the bus. I had to get ready and make sure I had absolutely everything with me. First I changed into …show more content…

It was 3rd down, and we scored a touchdown by running across routes confusing their defense and allowing our receivers to get open. The score was now 21-14, putting us down by only one TD. The third quarter ended, it was now the 4th quarter and we were only down by a touchdown, the whole team was feeling good and we felt like we could come back and take the chip home. We kicked off and on the very first play of this drive they threw it right over the middle to their tallest receiver who was 6’5. There was no chance for our corner and he ran it right into the endzone making the score 28-14. This touchdown killed the whole team's spirit and the whole defense came off the field with their heads down. We got the ball back hoping for something big but it was just another 3 and out forcing us to punt. Colusa got the ball back and drove down the field with their passing game. They got to the one-yard line and ran it up the middle with their running back scoring for a fifth time, making
