From ages 5 to 17, I would play with my brother, who was 3 years younger than me, almost all the time. My brother and I, would combine Object play and Imaginative play by reenacting scenes from cartoons with action figures. We would always play with Power Ranger action figures and pretend they were different characters from a totally different cartoon, like Naruto or G.I Joe. The Creative play I engaged in consisted of playing with Legos mostly. My younger brother loved playing with Legos and would build all sorts of stuff and I would join to help him finish it. We used to throw away the manual that came with the Lego set and would create cars or guns even though it was meant for a Star Wars ship. The type of Social play I was involved in was sports. I used to go outside with my brother and we’d play dodgeball or football with our neighbors, but we never kept score because we just wanted to play for fun. As a child, I would love to build things out of Legos with my brother. I preferred building and making things over playing sports. When I was 10 my love for drawing started to emerge. I would have 4 sheets of paper on my desk and drew characters I made up and I would try copying characters from cartoons I used to watch. I wasn’t very at it then, but I kept drawing and I got better over time; I still need more practice even today. Drawing and creating things gave me satisfaction when it was complete and it made me happy. At the age of 14, I was fascinated by this cartoon titled “Air Gear.” In the show, the characters rode on motorized roller blades. I later sprung the idea of putting the wheels on the bottom of a skate board on the sole of a pair of shoes. I wanted to make this so I could maneuver as if I were on a skateboard but you don’t have the board ;just your feet. After detaching the wheel from my skateboard, I crazy glued the wheels from the board to the bottom of an old pair of Nikes that I had. It worked but eventually fell apart because the glue didn’t stick for too long. Even as an adult, I take classes where I have to draw, but I draw more than I need to for the fun of it. I recently learned to draw in a computer program and I’m designing a sign for a friend of mine going into real estate. This shows that even in the Present I have the play personality of
