The Civil Right Museum was extraordinarily breath taking when it came to the statues, the exhibits, and the Lorraine motel. I thought the museum was very unique and surreal. I have always read the history about the Civil Rights Act, but I have never seen it up close and personal enough to realize what the African American culture really went through. As I walked through there and seen the men and women who fought for their rights it really inspired me and it made me want to see more. I feel like I walked through it too fast, because it was so much information and exhibits to see. The exhibits that stood out the most to me were Rosa Parks. When I got around there to that room where Dr. Martian Luther King, Jr last stayed I had no words. Everything was still sit up the same way it was the day he got shot. I know it happened in 1968, and I was born in 1977, but it felt like that history was playing over inside my head and it felt so surreal to me. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an American civil rights leader who was fatally shot at the in Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday, April 4, 1968, at the Lorraine motel, at the age of 39.He was pronounced dead at 7:05 p.m. in the evening hours at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. Civil Rights were created in the U.S. Constitution along with other laws. The Civil Rights laws were protected and our freedom was ensured under fair treatment for everyone. No one should have to be faced with discrimination because of their religion, trait, age, or race. The statues and exhibits explained the claims making of what years and what policy was in affect at that time. Take Rosa Parks for instance and the other women that followed her every day, they were making a statement. She was going to set at the front of that bus before it was over no matter what she had to face to do it. She was claims making by setting that example for the other free riders. She was showing that bus driver she was making a statement for all African Americans. She got arrested but she got to sit on the front of that bus and every other color person got to sit wherever they liked as well she was a claims maker for them and herself. Her efforts were effective on every level she was a woman, she was African American, and she was a freedom rider. In those days it took a lot to do what she done and all the rest of the African Americans done to claim their rights. Overall, I enjoyed this day to the fullest and I learned a lot of
