Today’s society has become heavily reliant upon technology and people are more assessable to a sedentary lifestyle. Heart diseases and other health conditions like diabetes is a growing epidemic worldwide. Countless patients with health concerns are relying on medications to fix a number of their medical problems. Prescription drugs are necessary for several different medical conditions. However, daily physical activities and exercising are a great way for living a healthier lifestyle and a preventive measure to diseases. Personal Training is a growing profession and is a well-respected amongst health care professionals and the fitness realm. Physicians and other health professionals recommend some patients to hire a personal fitness instructor to provide a custom fitness program to help reach their goals. College degrees in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Trainers, or other Sport related degrees is not required but are becoming increasingly common and recommended. Many employers require a personal trainer certification. Trainers can obtain certification through several professional associations devoted to fitness and related areas, such as the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports medicine (ACSM), the American Council on Exercise (ACE), International Sport Sciences Association (ISSA) and several more. Also, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is generally required to enroll in class. Not all Certification are created equal. The more respected professional association the better job opportunity.
