Even since 1791, when our forefathers proposed and published the Bill of Rights, the right to bear arms was a must-have. They knew that the American people needed a way to arm and defend themselves, and so added the second amendment. The second amendment reads as follows: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The line in the sand had been drawn. Owning a firearm was a right granted by this bill, and in no way shall be taken away. There are gun control laws enacted right this moment, yet evil people still have found ways around the law in order to come into the posession of a firearm illegally.
