The gun issue in the United States has been generalized as many mass shootings have taken place within the last 4 years. It is so easy to obtain a gun in the US that 80,000,000 citizens in that country have one (Masters). Guns are not only sold in specialized shops but they are also sold in shops like Walmart, where they have 400 different types of them. The most common death in the united states is gun homicide and the less likely cause of death is having a car accident. President Obama after some mass shootings acted and signed 23 executive laws and gave three suggestions to stop these shootings: a ban on specific weapons, a background check and more law enforcement. And as far as I am concerned, this numbers still do not make people act, except for Jill Lawrence a victim of gun violence who now is the president of an association that fights against this issue. Jill Lawrence lost his brother in a shooting and in his opinion the background check that Obama proposed is the main solution to stop these shootings to happen. But many conservatives and republicans see this types of laws as an assault of the second amendment that I have mentioned before. For example, a group that does not support this kind of laws is the NRA (National Rifle Association) because they claim that in 1979 where the gun control was eliminated there was a lower level of violence and the decrease in crimes. But even though some guns are obtained from the black market or are robbed from shops, to work out a background check for every arm sale would decrease the numbers of shootings. I feel that there is no way to eliminate all the guns that exists in the U.S but there should be some legal barriers to make difficult the process of obtaining a
