Legalization Versus The Illegalization of Marijuana
Marijuana is also called cannabis, which is a plant an herb that contains psychotropic ingredients that is mostly used as a drug. This drug and herb has been used medically for centuries all over the world. The usage is for medical purposes and treatments for diseases and symptoms of illnesses. Marijuana is a substance that can be viewed as both beneficial and harmful. It is debatable to legalize marijuana in developed countries, such as the United States, but is medically used in other countries, such as Canada, Belgium, and etc. Despite the numerous cons of the legalization of marijuana, I believe the pros of the legalization manage to further outweigh the cons.
The usage of marijuana is for medical purposes. Doctors prescribe it to a patient during the treatment of arthritis, epilepsy, nausea and Alzheimer’s diseases, and other diseases or illness. There is research that states that without tobacco, smoking of marijuana could not harm the lungs. Marijuana is beneficial for the relief of muscular pains particularly with paralysis and sclerosis.
The utmost common dispute against marijuana is that it physically harms the human body. Tobacco and alcohol are legal, but they harm the human body just as it said that marijuana does. Tobacco is the second leading cause of death in the world and the main ingredient, nicotine, is highly addictive. Alcohol causes countless health problems, especially to the liver, and kills about 100,000 people per year. Although marijuana and cigarettes have similar health risks, marijuana is medicinally used to treat a variety of illnesses. Marijuana can lessen symptoms of asthma, AIDS, cancer, chronic pains, nausea, vomiting, and other illnesses. It is even less toxic than multiple known drugs that physicians prescribe regularly. The leading reason that separates alcohol and tobacco from marijuana is the fact that it is illegal.
Marijuana can be a harmful drug without the right knowledge and awareness of its usages and effects. It may affect the steadiness or coordination of the memory. With large amounts of marijuana, memory loss, instability, and deceptiveness could occur. It could damage the immune system, lungs, and tissues. Marijuana would not be physically harmful to the body with the awareness and knowledge of
