2a. Habituation technique is growing accustomed to stimulation which results in decreased responsiveness. Contrary to habituation, dishabituation is when an infant responds to old stimuli as if it were new. The technique of habituation ensures if the infant is able to recognize and respond to repeated stimulation in a decrease in response manner to check if the babies are normal cognitively which also tests its cognitive capacity and memory making sure there is no flaw in that stage of development. 2b. An alternate technique that can be used to measure infant’s cognitive capacity is using communication. When something is spoken to the baby and its response remains indifferent each time, then something else is spoken to it which sparks up a new memory to which the infant associates a different response. This can be used to test baby’s memory and how well it remembers basic language syllables. 2c. However, it’s wise to use the habituation technique instead of the one described above because at this age babies might not be able to distinguish between language, which might confuse the infant and it may end up not responding to your message. Therefore, it’s advantageous to use the habituation technique as it uses stimulation to evoke a response, so the result will end up as
