What is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism is more that cloying a test or homework. Plagiarism is taking someone's published piece of work and calling it your own. You are taking more than their work, you are taking the time, energy, and knowledge that they used and acquired while writing that work. You are taking away the information that you would gain if you did the work yourself along with the realization that doing the work is worth time. To plagiarize is making a decision to be lazy, no one can get through life and be successful if they are lazy.
What can a person do to avoid plagiarizing in writing?
To avoid plagiarizing a person can first, write a paper using the knowledge that they already acquire. Second, if a person has to use someone else piece of work they should cite what they are taking from the other persons work. When a person uses anything that someone else wrote even if it is paraphrased or even if it is just two or three words it should be quoted and the original writer should be given credit for their work.
If I plagiarized a BCC assignment, what punishment should I receive?
If I or anyone is caught plagiarizing an assignment for any BCC class there should be zero credit given on the assignment the first time. If the plagiarizing continues a second, third, or fourth time the student should be dropped from the class and not be given credit for the class. Plagiarizing is an
