Web Assignment Republican Party is the political party I am researching and representing. Most of my family are Democrats but I don't support their causes or their beliefs but I do understand what Republicans are trying to accomplish and I understand their reasons and support them because they share my beliefs. I know there several other parties out there Democrats, Republicans, Libertarian, and Green party, and I have looked into all them I like to make sure I look into all their views and understanding before deciding a side to be on. This is mainly to have Liberals understand this simple thing. We support mandatory prison sentencing for gang crimes, sexual or violent offenses against children, repeat drug dealers, robbery, rape and murder. We oppose parole for dangerous or repeat felons and courts should impose the death penalty in capital murder cases. (August 2012) - Support the death penalty. Ex-president Bush and Republican Party support a federal Constitutional amendment for victims of violent crime provide specific rights for victims protected un the U.S. constitution. (September 2004) - Best way to deter crime is to enforce existing laws. Hand down tough penalties agains anyone who commits a crime with a gun. I have to say this approach is working out very well. In 2001 Project Safe Neighborhoods, hundreds of new federal, state, and local prosecutors have been hired to target criminals who use guns. Full name is Rafael ‘Ted’ Edward Cruz his home city is Houston, Texas. His religion is christianity which to me is a major priority to me due to my commitment to christianity. Ted Crus political experience is he is currently a Senator, United States Senate, 2012- present. Domestic Policy advisor, and was apart of Bush Presidential Campaign during 1999-2000. Ted Crus interest groups have a 100 percent of majority people behind the National Right to Life Committee this was back in 2015 but it shows that Ted Cruz has a strong group of people mainly republicans behind him that are for pro-life and to me thats important because no matter how large our population grows we are not going to be the ones to play god with new life and I truly respect that. The other that catches my interest was his ratings for guns. Ted Cruz had the full support in 2012 National Rifle Association (NRA)- Candidates positions on Gun Rights, 2013 and 2015 Gun Owners of America. What really concerns me is 1990-2014 Brady Campaign to prevent gun violence even though Ted Crus was not in office tim 1999 this support group still supports him. I wasn't able to find more on this support group and why they would back up a person who has strong support for better gun
