Ponyboy meets the definition of hero because he helped little kids from a burning church. Johnny can be considered a hero because he also helped little kids from a burning just like Ponyboy and so he is considered a hero. Dally is a hero because when Johnny killed Bob Johnny was trying to escape where the “fuzz” won’t find him so Dally helped him find a hiding spot.
