Positive deviance can be good, deviant behavior. As was stated earlier in this chapter, deviant behavior can be good or bad. Positive deviance is behavior that is normal, innovative virtuous or altruistic behavior. Positive deviance into five types: altruism, charisma, supraconformity and innate characteristics.
Altruism is doing unselfish acts just out of kindness, not looking for brownie points or anything in return. Charisma is a characteristic of leadership that can inspire others. Supraconformity comes from certain societal norms to extreme, meaning taking others feelings into consideration even if you have to bend the truth ( Humphrey & Schmalleger, 2012).
