Academic success for students begins with a trusting and mutually respectful relationship between student and teacher, extends to classroom order, and culminates in a safe and supportive school climate ( Cornell & Mayer, 2010). A positive learning environment should be an environment that encourages the children to explore new things, to learn new things and to experiment without being afraid of making mistakes. Learning should come from the learners itself. So it is very important to encourage the children to explore and also to provide the safe environment for the learning. I work in kindergarten. It is the time when the children are very curious about everything around them. They have a lot of questions for things that for us as adult would not even think twice about it. They have questions that are very stimulating and we can always make a research everything in our daily life. …show more content…
Simple questions like what is the rain? How does the water gets in the cloud? Why at one point the water comes down to the earth? Who makes the rain? Why does it rain? What does it look like? What does it taste like? We might be feeling the urge to tell them all the facts we know about rain, but instead of telling them the fact, we can ask them, what do you think? We should make an environment that is safe for the children to share their ideas. It is okay if their answers are not right, or if it is just imaginary. That is the beauty of it. So making sure that we are not being judgmental over their answers could make the children feel safe in expressing themselves and share their ideas. About the facts, we can just leave it to the books and maybe google it together as the whole class. Then we can learn together. Do some research in the library that is conducted by the whole
