It has been 50 years since the U.S. Supreme Court first ruled that government-endorsed prayer in public schools is unconstitutional. The decision debate over the separation of church and state, forever changed the way faith and religion are handled in classrooms. After doing my research, I have found there to be an increase for violent crimes, divorce rates increased, births to single mothers as well as STDs spreading. Also with the suicide, SAT scores dropping, I would state my opinion, but I have the facts to back it up. Ever since 1962, which prayer was removed from public schools crime rates have increased. I noticed violence in schools when there is no direction, meaning positive guidance. I have witnessed neglecting teachers as a result to students acting out of their character. Church is like a school where you go to learn and follow the rules under their roof like any other house. It is a time and place for everything and personally I am offended by the fact the school systems disapproves religion.

The law says it is allowed as long as it does not disrupt or interfere with others rights. Since prayer was eliminated from public schools, the quality of education has shown a steady statistical decline. Research says most Americans are in favor of prayer in public schools because they realize that there is something to be gained from the open acknowledgement of God’s existence. A sense of a higher calling may give students a focus instead of themselves thinking they are going to fail. They have put their trust into someone else’s hands, therefore the SAT scores have dropped about 10%, because the acknowledgment of God’s existence is removed.
