Princess Diana was a caring humanitarian and it best known as “the people’s princess” (World Biography). Diana Frances Spencer was born on July 1, 1961 to the Viscount and Viscountess Althorp in Norfolk England. Her father was a formal personal aide to both King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. Diana had a younger brother Charles and two sisters Sarah and Jane. Diana’s parents divorced when she was eight years old. Her father received custody of her and her siblings. Diana's father was made the eighth Earl Spencer and that made Diana a Lady. Lady Diana attended private boarding schools. Diana won many trophies for her swimming. She dreamed of being a ballerina but was too tall. After leaving school in 1978 she worked as a nanny. Diana became a kindergarten teacher’s aide in London.
In 1981 after a year of dating Lady Diana and Prince Charles were married at St Paul’s Cathedral. Their wedding was televised worldwide. Prince Charles and Princess Diana had two sons. Prince William Arthur Philip Louis was born in 1982 and Prince Henry Charles Albert David in 1984. Diana and Charles had some tensions in their marriage.
