Gun ownership is present only to benefit the people. There are many motives for gun control, as well as rational changes. The most objective and foremost truth, however, is that extreme gun regulations are implausible. The motives for gun control stem from the fear of the Second Amendment being abused for unrestricted power. With the second amendment, comes the fear of felons and mentally ill possessing firearms. When fine tuning these inspections, many understand criminal and mental health background checks, but many deter the thought of the rest, attesting to them being an invasion of privacy (ProCon.org 5). There has also been a movement for banning “assault weapons.” One must understand, however, that the term scares voters into thinking that guns are something out of a horror movie. Many say that gun accessibility is the leading cause for scuicide, causing over 26,000 deaths a year, yet obesity from overeating (gradual scuicide) causes more deaths per year at a horrifying 300,000. Gun control is an act that would benefit only criminals, whereas gun regulation (in moderation) is beneficial. A reliable source of support for the right to defend oneself is the Bible. Luke 11:21 says, “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe.” Psalm 144:1 says, "Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.” Extreme gun control/regulation is not plausible and would in no way improve
