Pro-life is not just for banning abortions, but giving the chance for a baby to live. The pro-life movement started in the 1970s rooted in other human rights issues, nowadays most supporters of this movement are republican, with the president having a big part of this movement for example passing laws. The pro-life movement started in the 1960s. The pro-life movements message of human rights is what made it go through the sexual revolution, the feminist movement, and the social changes of the 1960s that ended up starting the pro-life movement. …show more content…
“It was the feminists of the 1960s, however, who hijacked women’s freedoms into an agenda to sell abortion as a woman’s fundamental right to control her body and her fertility. The feminist movement catered the message to the public, and abortion became widely acceptable among Americans who adopted the ideals of the sexual revolution.” Many women who are feminist think having a abortion is up to them because it is there body and they should be able to do what they want. The anti-abortion movement is often considered central to traditionalist culture-war politics it also has an individual right approach, owing to its progressive roots. Since civil rights is important across the country and the world this is where it started to progress because during this time civil rights was a huge things. In our generation most Democrats are nearly gone, meaning here aren’t a lot involved in this movement, but most pro-life Republicans ever get to go on a large public platform and speak out about this pro-life issue.
