Prometheus, according to ancient Greek mythology, was “the son of a titan who was punished for playing his part as the benefactor for mankind.” He and his brother, Epimetheus, were tasked with “creating man and beasts” to reside upon the earth. While Epimetheus was impulsive and lacked planning for the future, Prometheus was “wise and possessed the gift of foresight,” (Prometheus the Creation of Man and the History of Enlightenment). Epimetheus crafted creatures to cover the earth and gifted them with abilities like strength and beneficial physical characteristics.
