On September 1786, the delegates from five states called for a Constitutional Convention to discuss improvements to the Articles of Confederation. The Committee, lead by John Rutledge who was in charge of drafting the Constitution. Other members of the committee included Nathaniel Gorham, Oliver Ellsworth,James Wilson, and Edmund Randolph.The Framers did not want the government to have absolute control of the people, but they wanted the people to be able to have a type of control/ government. The idea of Federalism in the U.S. made the most sense because it allowed the government to standards and rules for citizens all while not becoming too much of a power.
