Medical professionals are trained to provide the best care to their patients. They not only save lives but they do their best to honor their patient’s wishes. Voluntary active euthanasia is when a person ends in their life which can include refusing treatment or directly acting upon it. It’s based on a good easy death that honors the wishes of the parents. Voluntary active euthanasia should be legal in all 50 states in the United States. It takes into consideration of patients and their wishes. This principal stresses the idea of never harming patients but, treating them. If a physician is force abide by a patient’s wishes to administer active euthanasia this could violate it, “The principal may also be violated when no malice or intention to do harm is involved” (Munson, 933). Ultimately, the end result is death, which can be looked at as doing harm. So ultimately if a physician is forced to do so, they could be creating more harm than anything because the patients end result is death. The doctor should not be forced to inflict pain on a patient it results in making the physician also feel much pressured. In the film “A Death of One’s Own, Jim had a doctor who was very unconformable with physician assisted suicide which demonstrated that even if it’s illegal or legal, it can still make someone feel this way. Some people believe that it’s consider to be murder because the same result is death, However, if a physician keeps a patient alive against their wishes this could be harming them even more. In addition, someone is completely giving their consent and are fully aware of what will occur which means they have all of the information they need to make a successful decision.
