The reason for setting high standards for your own work is so that you have a goal to head towards. When setting these goals they need to be realistic. There’s no point setting a task that will take weeks to do to be finished at the end of the day. By setting the high standards it means you can achieve your full potential. A way of being able to set high standards and targets is by asking people how you are working and how you could improve the work. Constructive criticism is always the best type of criticism.
2.2
One way that you can set high standards for you own work is by setting goals to work towards. When thinking of the goals you should think about what it is you are doing in the task, what needs to be done and how it is going to be done. When you know these things you can set yourself a realistic target to achieve. Another way of setting high standards of work would be to try and push yourself that little bit more to do a more difficult task than you are used to. If it means asking for help then it’s ok because you will know for the next time. The goals set should be goals that get you motivated to work harder and achieve more.

You should always be willing to take on new challenges when they arise. It’s these challenges that get you thinking and learning new skills that will only help you achieve more. It is only by learning different skills and learning new things that you can achieve more. You are always learning in the work place even when you have been working there for a few years. New challenges get your mind thinking in different ways and get you thinking about how you are going to do the task in hand. By taking on a new challenge it also shows the employer that you are willing to learn something different even if it isn’t something you usually would go for.

Different work places are always changing in one way or another so it is important to get used to it and act on it positively. The purpose of change can be to make things in the organisation run more smoothly or easily. By being able to adapt to these changes that occur shows that you are still able to work effectively even in a different situation. It is skills like this that employers are looking out for. Without change, the work place would become a routine set of tasks that would become dull and people would begin to slow down and lack interest in the work. By changing the situations it is keeping things in the organisation fresh for everyone who works there. They may find the changes hinder the work place, but it may also maximise the effectiveness of the work place.
2.5
In all situations you should be treating others with honesty, respect and consideration. At some point in the work place you may need to work closely with certain people so by treating everyone fairly it will relieve any tensions that might be caused otherwise. Some people have different backgrounds or may have been bought up in a different way. This should also be considered when talking to a colleague. Without the fairness and consideration shown towards others things in the work place just wouldn’t work.
2.6
Your own behaviour in the work place should be more important to you than anyone else. It is only you that can control the way you act and speak to others and by having a controlled
