Funding allows for the development of programs that address the complex nature of substance abuse. Proper funding ensures individuals and communities have access to these resources such as counseling services and educational materials. The community is an important factor to consider when implementing new strategies. When members of the community are actively engaged and invested in prevention efforts, interventions are more likely to be effective. Trusted community leaders and organizations can help display accurate information and overcome barriers to increase the reach of impact.
