Pursuing a college transfer degree has many obstacles that many students especially transfer students has to embark just to succeed because of self-doubt, not having financials and the change of scenery. Just as (Edison) said “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try one more time.” In these images, you would look through my eyes as a transfer student and see the struggles that I had to embark on coming to Governor State University (GSU) from Kennedy-King College (KKC). The challenges that I have had and am still going through as a transfer student that this is a difficult, long, and stressful process. For example, I choose a university that was a partner with the community college that I had attended; which mean all my classes transfer over. There are some schools that will take some of your classes but for the most part, try to look for the school that would take all or most of your classes. So you will not be at that college any longer than you have too. Next, you must check to make sure your classes are paid for because some student is using financial aid and you want to make sure that your new university you going to has all over your information. Also, some student does not qualify for financial aid or they just might need more money for college. In that case, you would look into applying for scholarships. There is some scholarship that will just pay for books; so keep that in mind when you are applying for scholarships. Trying to take out student loans and even with that, you want to stay on top of it because you want to make sure it covers everything. For example, I had to take out a student loan because my financial aid did not cover my full tuition. Another example, I was trying to enroll in some classes at GSU but could not because there was some paperwork that Kennedy-King College (KKC) still has not send them. Students need to change their depraved tradition because it could hinder them in completing school. I am a procrastinator I would wait until the very last minute to turn in my assignments and sometimes do not turn and any at all. You must admit that you have a problem and try to very way to get help. For example, I am very disorganized so I brought me a wall planner to help me see what I need to do on a larger scale. Student often admits to themselves that they are dreadful at time management because they are finally being honest with themselves. You need to be around other students that are better and the areas you are lacking in. you can start a study group to help you with your studies. You are not along I suffered from that too. I am hideous at making time for people, studying and even sometimes showing up for work on time. At GSU I started to see a counselor because I can sometimes self-sabotage opportunity that comes my way. Also, I can sabotage even important effects for myself. While seeing this counselor on campus it is free because I am using one of my resources that my tuition pays for. She is trying to help me get through this school
