Though this is true, this does not absolve it from the institutional injustices that plague the university. I am co-president of the only LGBTQ+ organization on campus, Allies of BC, and I identify as queer. As co-president of this organization, I have the pleasure of coordinating its programs and serving as a voice for the LGBTQPIA+ community on campus. Though this is true, also I often meet with administrators and staff to discuss issues involving the LGBTQPIA+ community. I took the initiative to set up these meetings because there is a lack of transparency between administrators and students. In these meetings, I have been lied to about the approval of an LGBTQ resource center, and also I have been laughed at when speaking about the lack of safe spaces and resources dealing with intersectionality on campus. These are just a few of the many occurrences that have given an atmosphere of ignorance at Boston College. Regretfully, I have found that Boston College does not foster my growth nor acknowledge my whole person. I am not looking for a perfect institution, because no institution is perfect.
