My weaknesses are agility, self-awareness, social-awareness, information sharing, and outcome concern (Bradberry, 2012). Anyone who knows me would certainly recognize several of the same strengths compared to the assessment. I have always been a lifelong learner. I learn from my mistakes and develop new skills and knowledge (Bradberry, 2012). They would also recognize my credibility. I always gain the trust of others and speak with appropriate authority on issues of importance (Bradberry, 2012). In terms of weaknesses, I certainly agree with self/social-awareness. Covey’s book “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.” The seven habits consist of being proactive, beginning with the end in mind, putting first things first, thinking win-win, Seeking to first understand then be understood, synergizing, and sharpening the saw (Covey, 1989). What makes this book so great is the fact that the principles can be used for all aspects of life. It’s not limited to just management and leadership in general. I wouldn’t say that reading this book has been life-changing but it’s easy to see how powerful it really can be. When researching which book to read for this project I stumbled across Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits because of the high recommendations and the level of thinking involved.
