As a matter of fact, the United States is a multicultural nation. All races and cultures are almost represented in America. Considering as a nation of immigrants, this country has faced and still facing many racial issues from the Civil Right Movement towards today. Harriet tubman was a runaway slave who freed over 70 slaves with the underground railroad. Although many Americans hoped that the 1980s would be a turning point in the fight against racism, racial unrest continued and the nation grew tired. Hate crimes and riots became major issues in he 1980s. The 1990s was a crucial decade in America's history with racism and American society.
