Not only they had to use different things, but everything made for the black people had labels saying ‘Black people only’, in capitals. Martin Luther King was a man who fought for civil rights for all citizens and he was against segregation. He thought everyone to be non-violent. Martin Luther king’s speech “I have a Dream” proclaimed a vision for equality and galvanised generations of Americans to fight against social and racial injustice. He was an inspiration, which led to nonviolent protests against segregation in the 1950’s. Martin Luther was influenced by Mahatma Gandhi, which further influenced other people. Martin King Luther stated “Segregation....not only harms one physically but injure one spiritually.... it scars the soul....it is a system which forever stares the segregated in the face, saying ‘You are less than... “You are not equal to....’.” When Martin went to school, the schools were segregated and black people had to sit at the back of the bus and give up their seat for people white people.
