High unemployment and the crime problem, including gang violence that is fueled by the drug trade is reason why the GDP is low and is so hard to increase. The country has come to an agreement called The SIMPSON-MILLER government negotiation a new agreement to gain access to additional funds in 2013, although the deal will require the government to raise taxes and decrease public sector wages. So even though the taxes payers maybe a bit upset it’s taking out of the unemployed funds as well, which my help reason the GDP.
