As an IECE educator it is my responsibility to create and maintain an inclusive learning environment that supports the development of all children. In my Classroom Management Plan (CMP) Reflection I identified the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS) as a tool I will used to provide an emotionally, physically safe environment for children. By striving to meet the high standards in the rating scale I will provide an environment that best fits the needs of all children regardless of ability.

To support my Unit Lesson Plan on Birds in Our Community I created center-based activities to enhancing learning. For example I placed bird figurines and birds nest in the discovery center for the children to explore. I also provided art material including feathers for the children to create a bird to take home.
Referencing Technology/Assistive Technology I supported children with special needs through the use of Handwriting without Teachers Digital Tools for the SmartBoard. HWT provided visual handwriting instruction while the child wrote target letters or form target letters with wooden pieces. I also downloaded Handwriting Without Teachers Wet-Dry-Try for the iPad to work one-on-one with student struggling with small motor delays.
In my student placement I demonstrated my ability to create and maintain a culturally responsive environment. My CMP Reflection also documents my experience with an ELL student who was not meeting lesson objectives.
