In improving my writing skills I will have to learn to think more critically. When using critical thinking I would have to use deductive reasoning. By looking at the prompt or problem I will have to draw conclusions others may not see. I would also have to evaluate on the information I have given. Many time when writing, I stray from the main point. Sometimes I go so far from the prompt it is almost a whole nother paper. Some ways I can make sure to stay on the right track is the outline. If I were to make the outline, I could quickly go over all of my points and evidence making sure it has to do with the prompt. Another way to stay focus on the main reason for the paper is to proof read more. Maybe even reading it out loud would help me to see problems I did not see before.
Three goals I have made to help myself become a better writer are to think critically, organize my ideas better onto paper, and focus more on the given prompt. Thinking critically would involve analyzing points to come up with good reasonings behind them. To better organize my ideas better onto paper, I would create an outline to better arrange the information. My last goal would be to stay focused on the main point of the paper. Proofreading the paper would help to get rid of any unnecessary information. Hopeful by the end of this semester I would even have to try as hard to write an “A+”
