Quotation Analysis
2.
It’s hard to pinpoint the exact overall message of the novel, Reign of Error, by Diane Ravitch. The book contains viewpoints from every side of the spectrum when it comes to public education. The author provides multiple quotes for and against the public school system, and has many opinions of her own. The author, however, makes a quote that I would strongly agree with. Early on in the novel, she writes, “Public education is in a crisis only so far as society is and only so far as this new narrative of crisis has destabilized it” (Ravitch 3). I find this quote to be very powerful for multiple reasons.
