I began furthering my research paper by doing a video interview. I asked three of the same questions to three different ethnic groups. I made sure to pick three different backgrounds, to get sound opinions on the questions. The questions that were asked include: …show more content…
It basically expresses a personal story, and the reflection on the younger generation who wanted to be beautiful. This was my primary source for the impact that the children face. This was the start of my paper which I branched my ideas from. The genre included eight images. There are two images that show how the average Barbie doll has been modified and the other one is a little girl putting on makeup. These two images show how the toys have been modified and influenced by beauty. The next six images explain the outcome of the influences, impacts, and factors on our children. One of the images was black silky long hair, and this a prominent feature in beauty, and a challenge for some people to achieve. The next picture is a skinny child not eating, maybe because she is trying to live up to unrealistic model standards. It is statistically shown that 98% of models is skinnier than the average women (Koo, 195). Another image was Kim Kardashian, a common role model, it is showing an image without makeup and with. This is what the next generation is trying to mimic. The other picture is also expressing the fact, that makeup makes you beautiful. Makeup also come with a cost to your pocket and time. The following image is Alicia Keys, without any makeup, on a global magazine. So, this goes back to the question of what really is beautiful? Alicia Keys is on a cover of a magazine without makeup, the eye-catching target to paper; this will result in people following the trend and dare to be different or the magazines audience being crashed to the ground. Lastly, it is an image with four different women, with four different skin colors. Even skin color is associated with beauty. Who is to determine which one is the most beautiful. The goal of this is to realize and observe these factors. Then understand that these are unrealistic and damaging our children. We must reinsure that the younger generation know that they are beautiful in their own way.
