Gatsby lives in the past and still has the same perfect image of Daisy as he did years ago. Gatsby even stated, “Can’t repeat the past?... Why of course you can!” This shows how Gatsby only lives in the past and will not accept what is happening in the present. He also states, “I don’t think she ever loved him.” This quote shows how Gatsby won't accept the thought of Daisy and Tom loving each other.
Gatsby not only steals Daisy, but he takes advantage of Nick to get Daisy. For example, when Gatsby goes over to Nick’s house he tells Nick to invite Daisy to tea. Gatsby does this because he wants Daisy to see Gatsby’s wealth by driving by his mansion while traveling to Nick's house. His actions show us how Gatsby will do anything to reunite with Daisy.
Gatsby is the most despicable character because he steals a woman that is already married, he lives in the past, and because he takes advantage of Nick to get Daisy. Gatsby was my least favorite character in the book; he was a snobby rich fella that showed off his wealth by throwing drunken parties in his mansion. Not only did he throw parties, but he actually killed a woman! In the end, Gatsby was murdered because of his despicable actions and he rightly deserved
