The Proclamation of 1763 was a law passed by King George III that formed a line down the Appalachian Mountains, and he told the colonists to stay to the east of it and the Indians to the west. This was to keep them from killing each other after the French and Indian War because the tensions were so high between them. The colonists thought this was unfair because the Indians get more land and the land they were given was already settled on. Next came the Boston Massacre, where some colonists and British soldiers guarding the Boston Customs House got into a conflict. The colonists were throwing rocks and ice at the British soldiers, making them annoyed. Then, one of the soldiers was hit in the head by a rock and went unconscious, scaring the other ones and making them shoot into the crowd. When they were done shooting, they had killed 5 colonists and wounded 10, and were later tried for murder. The British taxing the colonists without their consent a major cause of the Revolutionary War because it caused much anger across the colonists. It started out with the Stamp Act, and worked its way up to the Intolerable Acts. The Intolerable Acts were very harsh, pushing the colonists over the edge and making them form militias. With these militias, they wanted to fight Britain to win their independence and freedom back, and this infuriated Britain.
