It will eventually become time for one group of people to break their political ties to another. Each group has the right to be separate and still remain equal. To show respect, the group who chooses to separate themselves should justify their reasons for doing so.
We believe all men are created equal and our God-given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness cannot be taken away. A government promises to protect these rights and in turn the people give it authority. When a government does fulfill its duty, the people have the right to get rid of it and create a new one with a foundation based on protecting safety and happiness. We have told the British about their legislature trying to unlawfully control us and have reminded them of the terms they agreed to when we settled in the colonies. We have gave them the opportunity to deny committing these unjust actions because we come from the same blood and ancestors. They are not listening, so it is necessary for us to separate.
