The Roaring 20’s were a period in the 1920s with extreme change through an increase in urban populations and an economic boom, allowing for purchases of magazines, clothes, movies, and more. New, affordable inventions such as the washing machine, vacuum cleaner, the refrigerator, and more make daily life easier. Popular culture and entertainment grew with the popularity of the radio and talking movies. More women than ever joined the workforce, and young people brought new social norms like the ‘flapper’- a modern young woman with short hair and a shorter dress.
