Roman sources of power Rome is well-known for its massive power in the ancient past. It’s access to power made it easy to defeat enemies to the extent of expanding borders, there exist various factors that enhanced its growth, as well as the creation of an empire. Apart from owning large tracts of fertile land and having a strong army, Rome was well-protected from invasions, and it was also a center of trade.
The Alps and Apennines mountains protected Rome from external aggression, thereby increasing its power and aggression to its rivals. Rome enjoyed a powerful army that developed adequately due to lack of enemy attacks. The two mountains allowed Rome to attack its enemies
