In 1968 Franco Zeffirelli and in 1997 Baz Luhrmann both directed abiding versions of the thrilling story of Romeo and Juliet. In Zeffirelli’s very traditional playwright he included the prince that threatened to execute both the Montagues and the Capulets for fighting and disturbing the peace “thrice”. In Luhrman’s modern day version the Prince is portrayed as the police captain and he too threatens to punish the twice noble houses.
