Friar Lawrence is responsible for Romeo and Juliet's deaths due to his idiotic plan. He is to blame for their deaths because he agreed to marry them just because he hopes it ends their family feud. Friar Lawrence is the reason they died because he gave Juliet a potion that made it seem like she was dead so she and Romeo could be together. A quote to support this is “This distilling liquor drink thou off;/A cold drowsy humor will run through your veins”(4.1.93-94). The potion ultimately led to the deaths of the two teens because the Friar was supposed to send a letter to Romeo telling him that when he came back to get Juliet she would look as though she was dead because she drank the potion, but the letter never reached Romeo but a servant of his named balthasar informed him Juliet had died so he went back to Verona and to Juliet's grave and killed himself but Juliet woke shortly after and saw Romeo dead so she in turn killed herself. In the end the Friars failure to deliver the message and giving Juliet the potion is what killed Romeo and Juliet.
Friar Lawrence is not the the person to blame for Romeo and Juliet's deaths. Romeo should be blamed for his and juliet's death.
