I have learned that setting goals is one way to accomplish your academic goal. You have to set goals that are realistic and stick to them. This was one of the things that I found really interesting in these nine weeks. I have always planned to finish my education, but because I had not really set the goal and stuck to it I never reached my academic goal that I had set for myself. I think I was not successful because I did not set realistic goals and I did not formulate a plan of action and I did not check my progress on a regular basis. I think taking this class and learning how to set goals for myself will make a difference this time with my academic goals that I have set for myself. I think that goal setting is one of the most important things you can do to ensure your academic success.
I have also learned throughout these nine weeks that time and stress management plays a very important part of your academic success. I have learned that the time of day you choose to study or do homework can determine how much you remember and how well you do on assignments. I have learned that if you block out time just for studying and homework you can get a lot more accomplished. You just need to figure out what time is best for you. I know the best time for me is when I have sent my kids to school, because I have more time to concentrate on my work and studies without any distractions.
