Samuel de Champlain, the supposed “father of New France”, has achieved many history changing goals, such as helping with countless settlements. In one, he founded a french settlement on the St. Lawrence River, which is now known as Quebec City. In another, Samuel de Champlain aided in founding a French settlement in Acadia. Champlain also created alliances with many aboriginal nations, like the Montagnais, Innu, and Huron. As well as being a great explorer, as he discovered Lake Ontario, and mapped and explored the Ottawa River all the way to Lake Huron and Lake Nipissing. With all these great achievements people noticed Champlain for his strong sense of determination, being pertinacious,
