In the film there is a scene where Sandra Bullocks character, Jean Cabot, and Michael Pena’s character, the Latino Locksmith, perfectly displays how people judge other people by the way they dress and look. In the scene, Sandra Bullocks argues with her husband and says:” I would like the locks changed again in the morning, and you might mention that we’d appreciate it if next time they didn’t send a gang member. Yes, The guy with the shaved head, the pants around his ass, and the prison tattoo.” (Haggis, 2004). In her statement, she made a presumption that Michael Pena character was a gang member based on his tattoos and the way he dressed.
