The Book that Saves
Almost every day I ask myself the same question, what is the point in life? And every day I answer that question with, to live my life for God and to try my hardest to resist the urge to sin. The reason I am able to answer this question is just from a book called the Bible. The Bible is split into two sections the Old and New Testament. The Old Testament is the history of how the Jews (God’s chosen people) survived by worshipping the one true God who saved them from persecution, death, slavery, and gave them their laws. The New Testament is about how God sent his only son, Jesus, to save our sins, so that everyone could live eternally with him in heaven (instead of going to hell), and the teachings of Jesus. The reason I would try to save the Bible is because it show me and everyone else the way to everlasting life.
One reason why I would try to save the Bible is because I would rather worship God, who I know exists, and retain everlasting life through him than go to hell. This verse of the Bible sums up how to retain everlasting life, “For God so loved the world he sent his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not parish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). This verse clearly states that if I believe in God and ask him into my heart I can gain everlasting life (I believe that you should also follow what the Bible teaches you, so you can gain riches in heaven).
The second reason why I would try to save the Bible is because God has helped me through some of the darkest times of my life. God has helped me through these times by giving me the strength, courage, love, and hope I need to get through these times. An example of when God has helped me through one of the darkest times of my life is when my baby sister Ellyson Marie Maki died of a terminal illness. He helped me through this time by showing me how much he loves me by putting it into the heart of one of my Youth Leaders to pray for me and my family every night, and to pray with me every single Wednesday and Sunday.
The last reason why I would try to save the Bible is because God shows himself to me every day by forgiving me, and showing me that he loves me by letting everyone have the chance to ask him into his or her heart. In the Bible it says that if anyone asks God to forgive him
